3| A darker ceilings gives the impression of more space.

4| The position of the room windows have an exceptional importance in the look of the color. Dark shades and tones are even darker  in the rooms with windows facing north – and vice versa.

Calculate Well!

1| PAINTING: Do you want to paint only the woodwork from a room or from entire house and you need to know how much paint you need?

Measure all those lengths and then multiply them by height, you get an area (in mp or sq ft) total to be painted. At the store, check the label to see what is the surface that can be covered with the paint from the can. It is simple to find the number of cans you need to do the job. Divide your measured surface by the area that is on the can label and you will find the necessary number of cans.

2| TILING: For tiling you should do exactly the same, but do not forget to subtract from the total obtained the surfaces of doors and windows. However, buy with 10% more material, to cover the lost by cutting. That depends on the angles, corners (some assembly techniques). Also you need spare tiles if you break accidentally some tiles.

3| WALLPAPER: You can apply the same method for wallpaper.  The previously described method to calculate the area you want to wallpaper and the number of rolls needed can be applied in this case. However, do not forget to includes a reserve that is useful to avoid kinks, especially in visible places. Therefore, buy enough rolls for the first time to cover the entire area and make sure they are are from the same batch, to be uniform as color, design and film coating.
