And speaking about basic rules – when you furnish and decorate your small apartment, you need to focus on optimizing the space in a clever way. There are several ways to do that.
One of the ways is to create extra storage space, for example in the vertical space, using wall-mounted shelves and cabinets.
Another way is to leave the area around the furniture pieces free to make the place look more spacious than it really is.

Keep the amount of furniture to a minimum
You should focus on the social area on your home. In this way you will make the living space look more spacious. Keeping the amount of the furniture at minimum will help. Do not use massive furniture pieces, only lightweight and with flooring clearance.
For example, it is more indicated to use two or three seats sofa and a couple of chairs instead of a large sectional sofa.
