One of the greatest qualities of this precious material is durability. Experts have shown that marble does not wear even after millions of people will be walked on it an entire life.

This material that has been worshiped by the ancients has indeed a finer texture than granite, but on the other hand is vulnerable to scratching.

However, who follow strictly the rules of maintenance, can have a luxurious marble floor for a lifetime.

Maintenance Tips

As a first measure of protection, apply a thin layer of wax to the surface.

Marble floor should be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth (you can also use a mop made โ€‹โ€‹of cotton) dipped in a warm solution with neutral pH. One option would be to mix a few teaspoons of baking soda in one quart of water.

DO NOT USE ever abrasives because they irreversibly damage the marble surface.

DO NOT USE also vinegar because it is acid and has the same effect as abrasives.

Food stains on marble floor should be cleaned as soon as possible to avoid staining.

Make sure that the floor is dry after cleaning because the water excess will be absorbed by the marble.

Marble tiles gain brilliance if they are wiped with a special polishing solution consisting of turpentine oil 80 grams, 10 grams of white wax and 2 grams of glue. Mix turpentine and wax, dilute glue and add to mixture. Polish is applied with soft cloth and applied uniformly over the entire surface. Because marble is a porous natural stone, has a tendency to scratch and absorb stains. Scratches are polished with fine sandpaper.

Anyway, all this trouble to maintain this type of flooring worth the effort. Marble flooring add luxury to your house while increasing the value of your home.
