You can work or relax while your automatic swimming pool vacuum is scheduled to start at a certain time and clean all the accumulated dirt and debris.

It is different from a conventional system; it saves your time, it is convenient but like any other product it has advantages and disadvantages.

The Advantages of Automatic Pool Vacuum Cleaners

There are three types of automatic pool vacuum cleaners:

a) Suction Automatic Pool Vacuum Cleaners
b) Pressure Automatic Pool Vacuum Cleaners
c) Robotic Automatic Pool Vacuum Cleaners
a) Suction Automatic Pool Vacuum

The working principle of this system is simple. It vacuums all the accumulated and floating dirt from the surface and sends it to the pool filter.

In this way, the surface of the pool is cleaned.

So, this system uses the pool skimming device to collect the floating dirt. This is actually, the disadvantage of this system. The pool cleaning is limited only, to the water surface cleaning.

This system is different from suction system. It uses the pool pump, i.e. the pressure created by the water jet to drive the dirt particles toward the pool filter.

It is more superior to suction system but it takes time for a complete cleaning of the pool. Dirt is gradually, absorbed by the pool filter.

c) Robotic Automatic Pool Vacuums

This system is the most used and recommended system.

It does not depend on the pool equipment as the other two systems. Its sensors direct the movement of the equipment scrubbing and cleaning all dirt traces.

CONCLUSION: However, the great advantage of these automatic pool vacuums is that they are scheduled to work independently at a certain time (on timer). They come in different sizes and they can be used for ground or above ground pools.

The Disadvantages of Automatic Pool Vacuum Cleaners

The advantages of automatic systems are clear. They save you a lot of time.

However, nothing is perfect.

1.The main problem with automated systems is that once it is programmed to work, this system will work every day at the same hour, even the pool is dirty or not.
2. In the autumn, fallen leaves can quickly fill the collection basket of the automatic pool vacuum. You have to empty the basket periodically to ensure proper functioning of the system.
3. Even the most sophisticated automated systems cannot ensure a perfect cleaning of the pool. They may not reach the most difficult corners of the pool making it necessary the manually cleaning.
