How to care for a wool area rug.

Regularly vacuum and ventilate the carpet.

Fresh stains should be removed as soon as possible with a wool-safe detergent, such as Marseille soap. Tip: Try to limit your water usage! Once the stains have dried, you can attempt to scrape them off.

You can clean the carpet with snow in the winter.

The mat should be taken outside to cool. Snow clings and turns into a cozy carpet.

Cover the carpet in freshly fallen snow. You can either flip the carpet over the snow or add more snow to it.

Brush or pat the snow off the carpet by raising it on a pole.

Prior to installation, let the carpet’s surface air dry a little inside. Only once it has dried should you lay the carpet on the floor. The scent of a wet carpet may be present, but it goes away as the carpet dries.

Avert needless washing.

Over time, there may be some bumps on the wool carpet, but you may carefully remove them.

Wool carpets are durable, beautiful, and eco-friendly, but you have seen that they need special care to keep them fresh and clean. Here are some other tips:

For tar, grease, lipstick, and other oil-based stains, use wool detergent and vinegar. Combine 4.25 cups of warm water, 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, and 1 teaspoon of wool detergent. Starting at the outside edge of the stain and working your way inside, apply the solution with a clean cloth or sponge. In order to remove the stain, blot dry and repeat.

For pet accidents, combine vinegar and baking soda. After applying baking soda to the discoloration, hoover after 30 minutes. Mix together 1/2 cup vinegar, 2 cups water, and 1/2 tsp liquid dishwashing soap to create a solution. Use a clean cloth or sponge to apply the solution, blotting the stain and odor until they disappear, then washing.

To thoroughly clean your wool carpet and get rid of any imbedded dirt or bacteria, steam clean it at least once a year. Utilize a machine that is certified for wool carpets or a professional service. Keep the carpet from getting too wet and dry it as soon as you can.

I hope these pointers will help you maintain the quality of your wool carpet!
