The high popularity of studio-apartments

Many people will notice the huge high popularity of so-called studio apartments today. However, these are not the residences that everyone is accustomed to seeing. Actually, most of the time, such a living area is a one-room flat with no interior partitions. The lack of barriers allows you to make the most of the available space in the room.

Even though the flat is only one room, the lack of internal partitions has some advantages. One of the benefits is complete freedom in movement and development. Partitions are typically used to separate a bathroom and, in rare situations, a balcony. It can also be used independently. You may, for example, design a little garden or an art gallery for your home.

The accessibility of studio apartments

They are inexpensive, the apartments are small, and there is a great requirement for maintenance. Repairing and arranging takes far less time and money.

Due to the better reliability of the construction, such studios are only found in brick and panel houses. In theory, you can convert a regular flat into a comfortable, compact, and cozy studio by removing some partitions (walls). However, it is important to remember that this operation requires advance notification from the relevant authorities as well as the acquisition of the requisite paperwork and permits. Doing this type of repair may be forbidden due to the general design of the house.

Tips and design ideas

Because you have to attempt to make a really good home, the process of constructing your own “corner of paradise” might take a long time, work, and money.

No matter how bright, big, and cozy the apartment is, any self-respecting individual will not feel completely at ease if it lacks a “bright spot.” You can rest your sight on this and enjoy true comfort. A centerpiece can be a piece of art or a designer lamp, a well-decorated area of the room, a nicely painted balcony, a lovely view from the window, or anything else.

A minor ceiling decoration rule exists. Making it “step by step” is not advised. Because this technique visually diminishes space, it is best avoided in compact apartments.

Mirrors on the walls can be used. In this scenario, the room appears low but quite wide. This mirror technique can be used to create your own distinct interior design style. It should be noted that mirrors are rarely utilized in traditional apartment design options, and this is a costly luxury.

Only one factor remains constant, and that is the most difficult thing to achieve when designing a layout: combining a minimum of free space with a maximum of “working” area. To attain this purpose, so-called multifunctional interior objects – furniture that serves multiple functions at once – are typically chosen. A multipurpose bedside table that converts into a table and two chairs is spectacular.

More tips and ideas

Most significantly, in a small apartment, furniture should be placed around the room’s perimeter. This makes space available for use as a tunnel.

White is seen to visually extend space; however, designers argue that light colors, not white borders, will aid to expand space. Striped wallpaper can assist in visually raising the height of the walls but use pastel hues. r example of such a device.

You might choose a minimalist style for such an apartment; it will seem elegant and Scandinavian. The main thing is that furniture takes up as little space as possible.

As a window design, shades, Roman blinds, or translucent textiles are preferable. Curtains that fit in huge apartments and bring comfort are improper in this situation.

You can expand the kitchen and create a dining room if there is a balcony. Beautiful armchairs and a table can be placed on the balcony if it is closer to the living room or bedroom. You can even place additional lockers and even a wardrobe on the balcony.

If there are only two people in the apartment, the windowsill can be converted into an eating space.
